Your Story Matters

Your Story matters

Everyone has a story, and everyone’s story matters. It’s important to be able to tell your stories, but sometimes it can feel uncomfortable. Well actually, it almost always makes us a little uncomfortable – but that’s ok! The reason it can make us uncomfortable or nervous is because we’re authentically sharing a part of our lives with people, and that takes courage. Some of our stories are fun and easy to share, but others may be painful or difficult to share. One of the most common things that people say is; “I don’t have a story,” or “my story is small compared to others!” This is simply not true. Every person has a story, and any story that has to do with how God is speaking to you, shaping you, or changing you is a story worth telling.

Share your Story

Our stories of victory, strength, and faith need to be told to encourage others, and at the same time our stories of pain, difficulty, and struggle need to be shared too. We are real people with real problems, but we believe in a real God. When we share the gritty, painful stories that may not have a pretty bow on them, we communicate to the people around us that our God is with us in the pain; He meets us there and guides us through the realities of life. Christianity isn’t just a good thing to do on Sunday, but this relationship is the hope and strength that gets us through every season of life!
